The Manyard™ Lanyard shock absorbing lanyards are unsurpassed for their safety, comfort and mobility.
The Manyard Lanyard is a stretchable energy absorbing lanyard. Manufactured into a polyester sleeve, the lanyard is elasticised, so that it is "self storing" in a manner
similar to that of the popular Stretchstop lanyard.
What makes the Manyard Lanyard unique, is that it does not have an "external" energy absorber, but has the energy absorber woven through the entire length of the lanyard. So unlike conventional energy absorbing lanyards, there is no tearing action when a fall is taken, but a smooth expansion of the core material which minimises the forces
of a fall to under 6kN.
A warning label indicates to the user that a fall has been sustained and that the lanyard should be removed from service. The bright webbing colour of the Manyard allows for easier inspection of worker compliance and correct use.
One of the changes to AS/NZS 1891.1 – 2007 is the extension of Appendix H, to include a regime of testing specifically for Double Lanyards. This new test simulates a
type of misuse of double lanyards. Lanyards with a single energy absorber remain unaffected by these increased testing requirements.
